On April 24, 2012, as Zakkai was approaching his 3rd surgery, we reached out to our friends to participate in a 25-hour prayer rally during the day of his surgery (as we did with the 2nd surgery). We were really, really hoping that would be the last time.
Unfortunately, God had other plans.
So, again, we are organizing a 25-hour Tehillim/Psalms reading during the Jewish/halachic day that Zakkai will be undergoing surgery in Boston this coming Monday morning, February 11, 2013. There are 20-minute time slots during which one can read Tehillim/Psalms of his/her choice. The timeline starts 5:00pm Sunday, February 10 and ends 5:45pm Monday, February 11. We are the first case of the day so surgery is scheduled to start at 7:30am. To participate, please see http://tinyurl.com/aepl2x3 . His full Hebrew name is Rephael Zakkai Avraham ben Yakira Avigael.
Monday is also Rosh Chodesh Adar, the beginning of the Jewish month of Adar – the month that represents the pinnacle of happiness and the transformation of bad events to good. We hope and pray that Adar’s transformative energy will permeate the surgery and result in a complete reversal of Zakkai’s condition from sickness to health and vitality.
Please note: while any Tehillim/Psalms are appropriate, the recommended ones for health are 6, 30, 41, 88 and 103.
